I can't keep up with this blog anymore as often as I'd like, it's too much work and I never get out there anymore. When I do, I'm mostly taking pictures of Mik unless there's some other really cool shit happening or some other friends that I know are out there with him. The purpose has shifted and my energy is elsewhere. But there were some heavy sets coming in yesterday and some really fun looking rides, so here they are!

Any day off work is a good day to adventure to new places. Especially when the forecast looks so good, he says something like "On days like today, it'll be good anywhere."
So we went anywhere.
I'd never shot here before, so I just stayed dormant in my spot and enjoyed the angle. Some heavy sets came through and I had no idea the potential of this area, but it was awesome to witness.

I seem to have no problem waking up in the 6 o'clock hour to join Miki at the beach - since a lot of my work days require waking up at 5am anyways. Commuting is a bitch. But the beach ain't a bitch. Life is good here.

A little messy out there in the water, but it looks like a lot of fun was had! I was just sitting in bliss with the sun beaming on my face, enjoying a few beers and happy to get some shots. We got skunked this morning looking for chanterelles but the day was pretty sweet in the end. Can't beat this beautiful weather in November.

Hmm, it seems I haven't posted anything in ten months. GOOD LORD. So I've been busy... but it seems to be the excuse every time. I'm starting a new job tomorrow so that'll be my excuse forever now.
Anywho... what a great morning! The waves were super juicy and way bigger than we expected, and the weather was crispy and refreshing. My soul is happy.

If you know me personally, you're probably sick of me complaining that I haven't been out to this beach since Thanksgiving... that's right, THANKSGIVING 2021. I was absolutely dying to not only shoot the surf, but camp here overnight. It has been way too long since I've done a winter camp here (except, being from Ontario, I wouldn't call this "winter camping" at all) and I'm so glad we made this happen. The weather was perfect, the forecast was amazing, and the tsunami never came. My soul was happy.

What a beautiful day to be out on the beach! I was in serious need of some TLC from Mother Nature and this was just the right medication.
A sweet distraction from school, and perfect for a little burst of creativity.

The weather was calling for rain all day so I came mega prepared - only to sit there barely touched by precipitation. (not complaining) BUT - I wanted to give my new sweet umbrella a try! First umbrella since living out west... only took a decade... but now my camera won't get soaked and I can actually shoot in the rain comfortably. Nice!

Wow... it's been that long since I've posted here?? What a crazy year it's been.
I feel like I haven't been to this beach since the spring time. Mostly because the forecast was always poo, but also to avoid the hundreds of thousands of idiots who now come here every single weekend. 
Today was nice though. We showed up somewhere in the 8 o'clock hour - the tide was low, the air was still, and a lot of the beach peeps were still asleep in their tents. Not a shabby way to spend a sleepy Sunday morning when the waves are finally coming back.

It's days like this we're happy to have our Sube's. Tons of people were parked at the top of the road and walked down, but there's something special about having a fun slippery drive on a snowy familiar road. Good times today in the dead of winter.
