Stories from the Beach

I made this blog for the purpose of surfers who might want to find their photo.
I've dated all the posts, and hopefully you can recognize yourself - by board or suit or stance, or whatever,
Please send me a message if you want a high res copy of your image!

Saturday October 28th - luckiest girl alive!

Saturday was an early day, but nothing out of the ordinary. The sun was coming up over the trees, there wasn't a cloud in the sky, and I stayed well into the afternoon to watch and capture the waves. Sunday when I was editing, I came across this photo and was like a kid on Christmas morning...

UPDATE: I found him!!
Thanks to the power of social media (plus the good folks at UsedVic and Black Press news) this photo showed up on facebook all over Vancouver Island. I got an email from a guy named Matt who tagged his friend Hayden, and I've finally found this guy I've been looking for, for almost 2 months! Amazing. One lesson I've for sure learned out of this, is never give up. Never never never never never never give up, even if it's something little like finding a person in a photo, persistence pays off, HOLY MOLY.

Conditions were lining up to be pretty damn perfect all day, not to mention there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so I thought it would be a good idea to rip out here after work and get some sunset pics. It's not very often I'm out here at this time of day,
but maybe I should be... cause DAYUM those colours!

October 8,9 - Thanksgiving Weekend

I was lucky enough to be on the beach for 2 out of my 3 days off this weekend! Woke up early on Sunday to rip out just as the waves were getting awesome, and spent the night listening to them continually crash on shore. This was probably the first great forecast of the season and it was BUSY. I've never seen it like that before. Ho-lee.
This was a pretty memorable weekend, having met Rivermouth Mike at our campsite! We had a few good hangouts, listened to some great stories, and I even caught a few pics of him on a wave. This weekend was one for the books!
