Stories from the Beach

I made this blog for the purpose of surfers who might want to find their photo.
You don't always get to see what you look like from shore.
I've dated all the posts, and hopefully you can recognize yourself - by board or suit or stance, or whatever.

It's not exactly in the agenda to drive out after work for a surf sesh, but the days are getting longer and it's actually pretty do-able... there are worse things to be doing on a weekday evening! Mind you, if the sun was out, it would have made for better shots.
Still, I sat for a couple hours in the rain just to see what was happening out there, as the forecast was looking pretty juicy!

A beautiful sunny, warm day at the beach (while the rest of Canada is still freezing their balls off) is the best way to spend a Saturday! I made a new puppy friend while shooting and we snuggled, it was magical but bittersweet... I didn't even get her name. *sigh* :)

My first time shooting in Tofino was a lot of fun! Ran into some interesting learning curves, especially with the rain, but with more visits I will continue to learn and grow, and try new things. And very excited to do so! This place has such different waves and breaks but it's all so amazing! I will take a trip to tuff city any day.

What an early day this was! We got there just around first light with only a couple people in the water already. I thought the lighting would be challenging that early, but it turned out to be pretty great. The morning sunlight in the winter sure is harsh,
but it makes for some interesting shots!
Speaking of interesting shots. I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time that morning. Two young eagles were fighting some crows for food, and I was close enough to grab some really cool shots from where I was. Throw another couple eagles in there, flying past a few minutes later, I was one happy lady!
